Overview
The Safety Processor manages the Main Processor mounted on the SC-OBC Module V1 and monitors the health of the board. The Safety Processor is designed for radiation tolerance by implementing triple-modular redundancy (TMR) in its primary logic flip-flops and applying ECC (Single Error Correction, Double Error Detection: SECDED) to data stored in on-chip memory blocks.
In the SC-OBC Module V1, communication with spacecraft communication equipment and other components is assumed to be handled by the Main Processor. Therefore, after power-on, the Safety Processor starts the Main Processor and autonomously manages the OBC. It also provides OBC management information to the Main Processor according to instructions from the Main Processor. The Safety Processor and Main Processor communicate through IPC(Inter-Processor Communication) on SPI.
